Bowen Seaside Retreat
Bowen Seaside Retreat is just a short 20-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver, British Columbia. Only 30 minutes from beautiful Cypress mountain, you may ski in the morning, then swim in the afternoon from the private waterfront of this beautiful property! From the east-facing windows, you can see the highway to Whistler, only a short hour away from Bowen Seaside Retreat.
Bowen Seaside Retreat is the 2,400 square foot main house on the property near Bowen Waterfront Cottage and it shares the same spectacular setting. Just like the cottage, from almost every room, you will be able to see the ocean and hear it as it laps against the shore. Walk out the door of Bowen Seaside Retreat to one of the four deck levels on which you may listen to the ocean, see southward all the way down Howe Sound, or look to the left, to view the majestic coastal mountains, often snow-capped.
The home is on three levels. The main level has a large open plan kitchen/dining and living area with floor to ceiling windows that take advantage of the expansive views south past UBC, Passage Island and on down toward the San Juan Islands. The kitchen is well-equipped with new stainless-steel appliances.
The top floor boasts a large, bright bedroom with skylights and windows that provide a view to the north, east and south. The home has hardwood floor and tile throughout. The large, open master bedroom with en-suite is, unquestionably one of the most spectacular rooms of the house with full-length windows that span the entire south- and east-facing walls. Waking up to the sunrise in the morning as you look out these windows from your bed is a wonderful experience. The home sleeps eight comfortably, as there are four separate bedrooms.
Bowen Island is a diverse, intelligent and creative community comprised of artists, writers, musicians, business people and academics. Here, you will find all the amenities: two well-stocked grocery stores, two doctor’s offices, a post office, a bank, a marina and several restaurants and cafés, from very elegant to casual. There are plenty of public beaches on every part of the island.
